AMD has pulled the wraps off of a tiny little nettop computer that should be easy to place in a crowded office or entertainment center. The machine is called the LifeBox and has no part that has to sit on your desk. The entire computer plugs into your AC outlet in the wall.
Inside little machine is an AMD Brazos C60 processor. The operating system is said to be Windows 8 and the machine has a pair of USB ports. It also features HDMI out and a memory card reader along with an Ethernet port. Storage is said to be in SSD and the machine has an Ethernet outlet.
Considering AMD doesn’t make computers, I would assume the company is hoping computer makers will step up and build a similar machine. I can see this being useful, if the price is low enough, for computer for kids or a tiny little entertainment PC.
