The Kindle has been a great success for Amazon, and with the recent price reduction is is bound to become more popular. It seems that Kindle books are becoming more popular as Amazon is reporting that they are now selling more Kindle books than hardcover books.
Amazon has said that over the past three months for every 100 hardcover books sold, they have sold 143 kindle books, and according to Amazon this is likely to increase significantly.
The figures as based on book sales across Amazon’s US book business, and the statistics even include hardcover books that have no kindle version. Amazon has also no included free Kindle books in the figures.
Amazon has also said that it has sold three times more Kindle books in the first half of 2010 as it did for the same period in 2009, Amazon now has a total of over 630,000 books available for the Kindle.
I am sure in a few years we will be hearing that Kindle books sales have overtaken all hardcover and paperback book sales.
