Ken Block is a racing driver that runs rally and other types of events. He is probably best known for his popular YouTube videos called Gymkhana. I think the hottest car he has ever driven in those videos was the 845hp all-wheel drive Mustang. This Escort is a slick little Gymkhana ride as well packing 333hp at the wheels.
It makes that power from a 2.5L four-cylinder Millington engine redlining at 9,000 rpm. The car was built specifically for fun at tarmac events and has all the racing hardware inside for safety and speed from a roll cage to full containment seats to the big drift brake handle. The car was built with assistance from Quick Motorsport, Rocket Bunny, and Hoonigan.
It appears as though this will be the car used in the next Gymkhana video and I for one can’t wait to see that. The first official appearance of the car will be at the Monster Energy Gymkhana GRID Finale in the UK. Block gives us a quick look at the new Escort in the video below as he does smoky burnouts in front of the garage in the car.
