Nintendo has announced that their new 3DS passed 400,000 US sales in just its first opening week. Also setting a new US day-one record for Nintendo’s handheld division.
Nintendo released its new 3DS console on the 27th March 2011 and managed a huge 400,000 in March alone. To put this in perspective their DS sold a total of 460,000 in its first 30 days on sale and if you take the new 3DS figures over a full 30 days, it a whopping 2.4 million.
But as most manufacturers know to sustaining a products first weeks sales figures over the first month does not always happen and requires an exceptional device. Has the 3DS got the staying power to become the products of dreams fro Nintendo? Only time will tell.
