The 2019 iPhones are not expected to come with 5G, it looks like we will have to wait until 2020 to see iPhones with 5G.
According to a recent report there will be two 5G iPhones in 2020, one with a 5.4 inch display and the other with a 6.7 inch display. These are basically the 2020 versions of the iPhone XS and XS Max.
The news comes from Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo who has revealed that all three models of next years iPhones will come with OLED displays.
We expect that the new 2H20 iPhone lines will include the high-end 6.7-inch and 5.4-inch OLED iPhone models and the low-end 6.1-inch OLED iPhone. The 6.7-inch and 5.4-inch OLED iPhone models will likely support 5G. We expect that the PA usage of each 5G iPhone will be 200% more than the current number for iPhone models. Sole suppliers, including Broadcom (designer) and Win-semi (manufacturer), are the significant winners in this case. […]
We believe that the content of Apple and Qualcomm’s previous settlement includes Qualcomm’s release of partly 5G baseband chip source code to Apple for Apple’s development of own 5G PA/FEM.
This includes the 2020 version of the iPhone XR, the current model has an LCD display, he also revealed that the 2020 iPhone XR will not have 5G, instead the handset will come with 4G LTE
