There are plenty of reasons why you would need a truck that can tow huge amount of weight. You might be hauling your RV around or maybe taking a bunch of horses or cows to the local auction house. Ford has unveiled the new 2017 F-Series Super Duty trucks and not only do they look really cool, they also have all the torques and towing.
The 2017 F-450 has a maximum gooseneck towing capacity of 32,500 pounds and maximum fifth-wheel towing capacity of 27,500 pounds. Its conventional towing capacity is 21,000 pounds. Owners can fill the bed of the truck with 7,630 pounds of whatever. The 6.7L PowerStroke V8 turbo diesel generates 440hp and 925 lb-ft of torque.
A gas V8 option makes 430 lb-ft of torque. All trucks in the family can be had with features like BLIS with Trailer Tow, adaptive cruise control, and trailer reverse guidance to help back the trailer up. The trucks also have a center high-mounted camera that looks into the bed to help when hooking up a gooseneck trailer or fifth wheel.
“This is the best heavy-duty truck we’ve ever made,” says Doug Scott, Ford truck marketing manager. “We listened to our customers and created the toughest, smartest and most capable Super Duty ever.”
