Chevy has revealed the new 2017 Corvette Grand Sport at the Geneva auto show. The car is designed with a light architecture and an aero package that is meant to help the car perform on the track. It has a naturally aspirated engine and wears sticky Michelin tires. The Grand Sport is able to attain 1.05g in the corners and up to 1.2g when fitted with the available Z07 package.
The tires chosen for the car are Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tires in 285/30ZR19 front and 335/25ZR20 rear. The wheels are 19×10 in the front and 20 x 12 in the rear. Chevy fits the car with a Brembo brake system that has 14-inch rotors and six piston calipers in the front and 14-inch rotors with four pistons in the rear.
Power is from a Chevy LT1 V8 engine making 460hp with a dry sump oil system and active exhaust. Buyers can choose a 7-speed manual with active rev match or an 8-speed automatic with paddle shifters and performance calibration. Adding the Z07 package brings carbon ceramic brakes and Pilot Sport 2 Cup tires. The car also gets Grand Sport specific front fender insert and other exterior tidbits.
