Google Maps Now Uses Real-Time Traffic Data For Travelling Time Estimates

To improve the accuracy of its directions and timing within its Google Maps service. Google has this week launched a new a new update that uses both live and historic traffic data to provide you with a more realistic time for your driving time estimations.

Google’s new traffic feature evaluates current traffic conditions and is constantly being refreshed to provide you with the most accurate, up-to-date estimate possible.

Google Maps Provides Real-Time Traffic Data

To access the new data if it is available in your area simply go to the directions section within Google Maps. Below the time estimate for how long your trip might take without any traffic, you’ll see the adjusted estimate that takes into consideration the current traffic data. Enjoy!

If you own an Android device, you can also help your fellow drivers and improve real-time traffic data about road conditions and speeds by turning on the My Location feature on Google Maps for Android.
