We have been hearing all sorts of predictions about the launch of HTC One on the Big Red. Earlier rumors pointed out that the device will be launched on Verizon on 29th August but turns out that is incorrect. Verizon has finally made an announcement via Twitter that the device will be available starting 22 August for $199.99 with a 2-year contract.
The release comes after almost five after it was launched on almost all the carriers in the United States. However, as they say, better late than never. It has also been revealed that the 32GB variant of the device will be available on the Big Red and will come with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean at launch. If you don’t know, no other carrier in the US has Android 4.2.2 on HTC One as of now. All the other HTC One variants are running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

We hope that Verizon manages to sell HTC One as we expect to see a number of flagship devices from various careers in less than three weeks – at IFA 2013. It is expected that Sony will unveil its Xperia i1 Honami while Samsung scheduled an event to unveil its flagship phablet – Galaxy Note 3. On the other hand, Apple is expected to schedule an event on September 10 where the Cupertino giant will unveil its iPhone lineup.
