BlackBerry has already started the Android 6.0 Marshmallow roll out for the handset in US, UK, Canada and France bought through the company’s ShopBlackBerry store.
If you’re based in Canada and are in possession of the BlackBerry Priv tied to TELUS, there’s some good news for you. The company has updated their software update schedule and lists that BlackBerry Priv will get the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on May 3rd, along with the security update.
The latest Android Marshmallow update for BlackBerry Priv brings a number of new features, enhancements and security improvements. The new update brings a handful of security enhancements, including better app permissions support, improved notification settings and more. Additionally, the new update brings an enhanced version of the BlackBerry keyboard with over 200 new emojis, better word prediction, new keyboard gestures and more.
Additionally, there are battery enhancements as well such as Doze which puts your smartphone into sleep state when at rest to improve the overall battery life for the handset.
