LG G4 has received the Android Marshmallow update in several countries, including some carriers as well globally.
Sprint has already released the Android Marshmallow update for the LG G4, but if you’re tied to T-Mobile, there’s some good news for you. The Android Marshmallow update is rolling out for the T-Mobile LG G4, but it’s not rolling out over-the-air at the moment.
Unfortunately, users interested in installing the update have to connect their smartphones to their PC and install the update via LG Bridge PC software. Reports suggest that users aren’t getting the update over-the-air as of now, but since it’s available, there’s a possibility that we may get to see the update reach devices in the coming days.
In the meantime, if you’re ready, just install it via the PC software for your device if you can’t wait for the OTA to arrive on your handset. We’ll update you as soon as T-Mobile do so.
The new update brings a number of new features on board, including improved battery performance through Doze, a new feature which puts the phone in sleep state to preserve battery life as well as more control over the permissions granted to specific apps.
LG has now released their new G5 smartphone, have a look at our guide on the LG G5 vs LG G4, for full details on LG’s new flagship.
