The Magenta carrier released a list of devices which will get the Android Marshmallow update, but unfortunately, the LG V10 was not mentioned in the list despite its launch in October last year.
Now, T-Mobile has confirmed that LG V10 will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming weeks. The carrier didn’t reveal the exact date for the roll out, but it’s still good news that it’s coming to the handset.
Details on the Update Process
The company’s support site further mentions that the device will get the update and is currently in the “Manufacturer Development” stage. This is an early stage where the carrier and the manufacturer have agreed to support the latest software version for the handset. During this phase, the software is being developed and tested to ensure it works seamlessly with the device’s hardware and existing features.
The LG V10 ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop as its operating system out of the box. One of the standout features of the LG V10 is its secondary display, which sits on top of the main display. This secondary screen is designed to provide quick access to apps, notifications, and other functionalities without interrupting the main display. It’s one of the main selling points of the handset and adds a unique touch to the user experience.
What to Expect from Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings a host of new features and improvements over its predecessor. Users can expect enhanced app permissions, which give them more control over what information apps can access. This is a significant step forward in terms of privacy and security. Additionally, Marshmallow introduces the Doze mode, which helps to extend battery life by putting the device into a deep sleep state when it’s not in use.
Another notable feature is Google Now on Tap, which provides contextual information and suggestions based on the content currently displayed on the screen. This can be incredibly useful for quickly finding information without having to leave the app you’re using. Furthermore, the update includes improvements to the overall performance and stability of the device, ensuring a smoother and more responsive user experience.
The LG V10 is equipped with powerful hardware, including a Snapdragon 808 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 16MP rear camera. The Marshmallow update is expected to optimize the performance of these components, making the device even more efficient and enjoyable to use.
We’ll update you as soon as the carrier releases any information about the availability of the update for the handset. In the meantime, LG V10 users can look forward to a more refined and feature-rich experience once the update rolls out.
