Sony is preparing to launch their upcoming Xperia X series smartphones in the coming weeks so it seems pretty reasonable that they are reducing the price of the current Xperia Z5 in the United States.
All major retailers including Best Buy, B&H and Amazon have slashed the price of the handset by $100, bringing it down to $500 in the country.
All of the above mentioned retailers are offering the handset in three color options: graphite black, white and gold. It’s worth mentioning that B&H also have the green model in stock at the same price — if anyone’s interested in the unusual color option.
Sony did make it’s way to the US, but they still have a long way to go especially if they want to come in the top ranks and have a strong presence like Apple and Samsung.
The Xperia Z5 comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. Other features includes a 23MP rear camera for photos and videos, 5.1MP front-facing camera, a 2,900 mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity and ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop (upgradeable to Android 6.0) as its operating system.
