Not too long ago, Samsung released their Android Wear based Gear Live smartwatch. It’s not just the Gear Live, Samsung has many smartwatches under its named — Gear 2 and Gear Fit, which were launched with Samsung’s Tizen OS earlier this year.
It’s not too strange to predict that the next iteration of the Gear smartwatch is in the pipeline. According to a new rumor, Samsung may launch the Gear 3 this fall, and it may come with a circular design, based on the patents which were discovered recently.
The folks at Phandroid, citing their trusted source, said that the Korean OEM is working on the Samsung Gear 3 which will come with Tizen OS, and will launch later this fall. The exact launch date is still unknown, but they said Samsung is trying to get it out in the market before their developer conference kicks off on November 11th .If we were to guess, we’d say that we may see the upcoming smartwatch at the IFA 2014 in Berlin alongside the Galaxy Note 4.
There’s no word about what it would offer, or the design it will carry, but recent discovery of a patents filed by Samsung reveals that it may come with a circular design with a camera on the strap. This is something similar to what Motorola has done with its Moto 360.
It’s all just speculation, and the Samsung Gear 3 could turn out to be totally different so a little bit of salt is required to digest this rumor. There’s no official confirmation from Samsung so we advise our readers to take it as a rumor. We’ll update you as soon as we get any more information.
