HP is not a well-known brand when it comes to smartphones. The manufacturer had a history with webOS based smartphones, but the scenario is totally different now. We’ve seen Android-based tablets from HP, but there are no Android smartphones by the company. A German website, WinFuture, citing its trusted sources said that HP is working on a Windows Phone handset.
The report does not provide any extra details about the specifications of the device, but suggests that it will be launched this year. There are no further details about the launch and availability.
The current smartphone market is very competitive with Android and iOS devices dominating the market, followed by Windows Phone. Apple recently introduced its upgraded iPhone lineup, with Samsung and Sony with their Galaxy and Xperia devices. In order to compete with them, HP must introduce a device that can take on the flagship devices from these manufacturers – in terms of hardware and design. Otherwise, the chances of success are very slim. What do you think?

“This story is a fabrication and is not related to anything HP has in the works. Someone is making stuff up.”
