OnePlus One had a bumpy start if you ask me. When the handset launched, it wasn’t as simple when it comes to buying a unit since users needed invites to purchase one. The company recently started the limited pre-orders as well, but it didn’t go as smoothly as planned.
These aren’t the only issues with the handset, which offers excellent specifications at an affordable price. There’s another department where the company seriously lacks, and that’s support.
Some users took it to Reddit, and even the OnePlus One forums, to report about defective devices, and how the company ignored to address the issues. A user reported on Reddit that he was facing audio issues, and upon opening a ticket, he was sent a file to flash on the device, which to his surprise wiped the device, but didn’t fix the issue. And, when he asked for a refund or replacement, the support went numb with no response what so ever about the issue and how to fix it.
This would be another dark spot on the reputation of the company, and its potential customers. If a company cannot provide good support to its customers, there’s a reason people will move away from it, no matter how good the product is. Plus, it’s not like they are intentionally sending out defective units, but if a faulty device is shipped, they should be present round the clock to work with their customers on fixing the issue, rather than ignoring them.
