It has been revealed that Nokia Lumia 520 is the most popular Windows Phone device, according to AdDuplex. AdDuplex is a cross-promotion specifically for Windows Phone and Windows 8 that helps developers promote their apps on Microsoft’s platform. Every month, the company publishes usage statistics to check how Windows Phone is performing.
They have released their July report which tells us that Nokia Lumia 520 is the king of Windows Phone acquiring 13.3 percent market share worldwide, followed by Lumia 920 (11.8%) and Lumia 620.
In just one month, Lumia 520 secured the top spot after being number fifth in the month of June. Here is a detailed graph of the progress of Lumia 520.
The main reason of this uplift was due to the fact that it has been a great success in India. Over the course of the last three months, the market share rose from 0% to 31%.
In the US, the top spot is held by the mid-range Lumia 822 followed by Lumia 920. Even in the US, Lumia 521, the big brother of Lumia 520, managed to get a decent market share of 5% and claiming its spot in the top 10.
Well, the fact that must be appreciated is that Microsoft OS is gaining popularity, with special thanks to Nokia for working on WP8 platform for its devices. Currently, majority of Windows Phone smartphones are running Windows Phone 8. I hope more companies will opt for Windows Phone 8 for their devices, although it still has a lot of ground to cover in order to give tough competition to other operating systems.
