There’s no denying Minecraft is something of a force of nature, which means that its success, even on the notoriously inhospitable Android platform, comes as no surprise. The game just broke the million sales barrier on Android alone, though no information is forthcoming about how it performed sales-wise on Apple devices.
The news was broken via a tweet from Mojang. “Minecraft – Pocket Edition has now sold more than 1 million copies. Thanks all for the support and I hope you will like the coming updates,” the (necessarily) brief statement read. This follows the announcement form Minecraft creator Notch that he will be taking a step back from Minecraft development.
