In the past few days, we’ve seen several screenshots of Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the LG G3, hinting that LG may release the update sooner than expected.
It turns out LG wants to be the first manufacturer to release the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its handsets. The company officially confirmed the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the LG G3 will start rolling out over-the-air in Poland this week, followed by other key markets in the near future.
“LG is absolutely committed to giving our customers the best mobile experiences available and bringing Android Lollipop to G3 owners as soon as possible is a top priority,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The new features and improvements in Android 5.0 will bring a whole new user experience to the G3 and make it even better than it already is.”
The Korean company also confirmed it will release an update schedule listing the handsets which will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, along with the time frame.
The latest update brings a host of improvements and new features to the operating system, including the all-new Material design, improved notifications, ART system to improve performance and much more.
On a side note, Motorola is also reportedly doing soak tests for the Moto X Pure Edition with Android 5.0 Lollipop. We’ll update you as soon as more information is released about Android 5.0 update roll out.
