Earlier this month at IFA 2015 in Berlin, Huawei introduced the Mate S smartphone, but there was no sign of Mate 8 at the event.
However, it seems we may get to see the Mate 8 next month along with the Kirin 950 processor. The company posted a press invite on Weibo, which hints at an event on November 5th with artwork showing Kirin processor.
Huawei Kirin 950 processor is the company’s latest processor with a Mali T-880 GPU for enhanced graphics. It appears that Huawei was waiting for the Kirin 950 to get official before they officially announces the Huawei Mate 8 smartphones.
As far as the specifications of the alleged Huawei Mate 8 are concerned, the purported device is said to come with a 6-inch display sporting a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, 3/4GB of RAM on board along with 32/64GB of internal storage coupled with a microSD card slot and is expected to ship with Android Marshmallow. Other rumored features includes a 21MP camera for photos and videos, 8MP or 5MP front-facing camera and a massive 4,000 mAh battery on board.
There’s no word about the pricing, but November 5th is just around the corner. We’ll update you as soon as we get to hear anything more about the alleged Huawei Mate 8 as well as its availability and pricing.
