Indie dev Ambient is closing its doors after failing to secure enough cash to keep things going. The studio is best known for its Death Inc. project, which is in paid alpha at the time of its closure. The studio was coming off a Kickstarter failure that saw Death Inc. miss its funding goal, but it seemed to be doing well after the paid alpha. All money will be refunded as the studio bids players a find farewell.
“It’s been an amazing ride and we’ve produced some amazing products like Monster Meltdown and Death Inc,” according to the statement posted on the site. “We’re super proud of what we achieved, but ultimately we didn’t manage to make enough money to keep the wolves from the door. And so we had to make the difficult decision that it is no longer feasible for Ambient to continue operating.
