Yesterday, Google unveiled their latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system along with a couple of new Nexus devices.
If you’re in possession of existing Nexus devices, you be glad to know that Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9 and Nexus Player will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow starting next week.
Previous rumors suggest that existing Nexus devices will get the latest update starting October 5th, even Telus has the date listed on their website.
The update will roll out for the devices over-the-air, and should reach existing devices in the coming weeks. Do note the process is gradual so you may not see them right away, it may take some time to reach all devices. Those of you who cannot wait, you can flash your devices through factory images which will be available next week also.
It may take some time for other manufacturers who have customized the operating system for their devices. A leak already revealed a list of HTC devices which will get the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, but we’ll have to wait for an official word about it.
We’ll update you as soon as other manufacturers reveal details about the roll out of the new operating system.
