It has been common knowledge for some time that ZTE has been working on a new wearable device. Reports suggested that it was going to offer an affordable smartwatch that is powered by Android Wear 2.0.
Well, ZTE has officially announced its latest that it’s the Quartz smartwatch. It will be released later this month to the delight of fans.
The ZTE Quartz is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. Android Wear 2.0 runs the show and it has a 500mAh battery, a built-in speaker and mic, GPS and LTE connectivity. It is also water resistant. ZTE Quartz also features a 400×400 1.4 inch AMOLED display as well. It is made out of metal and has removable watch bands that allow you to customize the look to your liking. It does not have wireless charging, a heart rate sensor, and NFC which means it’s not compatible with Android Pay.
ZTE has confirmed that the Quartz is exclusive to T-Mobile right now, so we don’t know if it’s going to be offered by any other carrier at this point in time. T-Mobile is going to start selling the ZTE Quartz on April 14th online and sales will begin in its store on April 21st if you are interested.
