Zack Snyder is teaming up with Netflix on a heist movie that’s set in a zombie apocalypse. The streaming service could spend up to $90 million on Snyder’s Army of the Dead.
This is Snyder’s return to filmmaking after he was forced to step away from Justice League due to a family tragedy. He seems very excited to be working on this film. “No one’s ever let me completely loose,” he told THR. You might remember his Dawn of the Dead remake, so this is not new territory for him.
Apparently, this project has been on the back-burner since 2007. The adventure follows some mercenaries on a heist into a zombie quarantine zone in Las Vegas. This is not the only zombie action coming to Netflix: We hear rumors that it’s also planning to resurrect Resident Evil as a TV series.
Snyder came up with the story and will start shooting the film this summer. Fans of Zack Snyders work will be pleased to hear this news. It may even be the start of a great relationship between himself and Netflix that could last a long time. It sounds like a very cool premise for a zombie thriller if you ask me.
