Fans of cat videos and the like will be happy to know that an update to YouTube has started rolling out in the Google Play Store. If you don’t see it yet it will arrive for you soon.
The update fixes some bugs, and changes to the UI. Cards are everywhere and there is also a multi-window feature that lets you view a video in one window while the other window lets you search or go through your feeds. That’s pretty handy. Another visual change is a new icon for the app.
There is also a hamburger style menu, video suggestion overlays during playback and you can open the guide to check on your subscriptions and feeds from anywhere in the menu. As if that wasn’t enough, the HD and CC toggle has been moved from the left corner of the video to the menu and on 7 inch tablets, you will find a fully-fuctional landscape UI. All in all not a bad update at all. There is a lot to like.
