Youtube certainly has been censoring a lot of things lately. There are videos that are allowed and not allowed on YouTube. Some of these are no-brainers, but others reside in more of a grey area.
Well, it looks like gun modification videos have now been banned following the Las Vegas shootings.
Up until now, users who wanted to learn how to modify their guns and add bump stocks were able to freely search and watch videos, but not anymore. Following the shootings in Las Vegas, YouTube has decided to change their policy and are now banning these videos and removing existing content.
A YouTube spokesperson says, “We have long had a policy against harmful and dangerous content. In the wake of the recent tragedy in Las Vegas, we have taken a closer look at videos that demonstrate how to convert firearms to make them fire more quickly and we’ve expanded our existing policy to prohibit these videos.”
There could very well be some backlash to YouTube’s changes, from gun-supporters, or those who believe that YouTube is trying to censor the internet, but nevertheless, it has spoken. However, something tells me that despite how many people get hurt with a hammer, or get hit in the nose, they won’t be banning any old 3 Stooges episodes or clips.
