YouTube has rolled out a new experiment, which allows you to see videos from multiple angles. This beta feature brings in multiple camera angles you can sort through while the video is playing. Right now, there is only one video that we know of that has this multi-angle feature. Videos that use this feature would need to be shot with multiple cameras from different perspectives of course.
Apparently they are trying to encourage creators to upload to YouTube, but it could be more about the social aspect I guess. It is an interesting feature at any rate.
It puts viewers in the control booth, letting them see things from several angles. The only video that has the feature was shot at YouTube Music Night, and it lets you sort through different camera shots. The only problem is that you might not know who is where on-stage, so you wouldn’t know which camera to view. It also only goes full-screen in Chrome for now.
Concerts and other events can take advantage of this new feature and it gives them more options for making a great video. YouTube is allowing interested people to sign up to be part of the experiment. What do you think? Do you like it?
