Activision spent a half a billion dollars on Bungie’s Destiny and it was one of the most anticipated games of 2015. It has done well and has been bringing in a lot of money. Naturally, rumors of a sequel began quickly. And the first DLC for Destiny was only rolled out today.
Well, obviously there will be a sequel and Bungie wants gamers to feel invested in this franchise. One good way to do that is by allowing them to bring their character progress to this next game.
In order to customize and equip Guardians with the best gear and weapons gamers go through a grinding system to get the best possible equipment so that their level cap can be raised. After all of the hard work, why would you want to abandon your Guardian? You don’t.
Bungie’s David Dague says that the idea is “the Guardian you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure,” This allows gamers to have a longer relationship with the same character. The developer later said that progress will carry over to the sequel 100%. That’s great news for people who have invested hours upon hours in the game working hard.
