Yahoo is in buying mode. They just bought Qwiki, a service that lets users make video montages, and now we have word of another acquisition: the purchase of contact management outfit Xobni. Xobni is all about products designed to help people keep better track of their contacts.
In case you haven’t figured it out, Xobni is inbox spelled backwards. Xobni’s services are said to provide “a full view of each contact, complete with their photo, job title, company details, and email history — as well as updates from Facebook and Twitter.” Xobni’s products are compatible with Microsoft Outlook; Smartr Inbox, for Google’s Gmail; and Smartr Contacts, for iPhone and Android devices.
It will be interesting to see what Yahoo does with this one.
