If you have played any of the X-Com games, you know you have been waiting for the latest. These turn based strategy games are addictive and awesome. Well, good news. XCOM 2, the sequel to 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown, is due to hit PC in November. That is great news, because you can never have too much X-Com.
XCOM 2 comes from publisher 2K and developer Firaxis Games, the same team behind Enemy Unknown.
If you have been paying attention, they’ve been teasing a big announcement with a website for the Advent Administration, which is basically a futuristic government that advertises gene therapies and other technologies that rid humanity of all of their ailments. However, the site has been hacked with messages that suggest trouble for the government.
Right now, XCOM 2 is confirmed for PC only, so we don’t know about consoles or mobile. The XCOM franchise has been around since 1993 and has been pretty popular. It has even spawned a board game. The series is all about deep turn-based strategy gameplay and permadeath. Yes, once characters die, they’re gone forever. So that squadie who rose up through the ranks and became your best sniper will break your heart if he/she takes a bullet.
