XCOM: Enemy Unknown may have been available for consoles but that didn’t mean that when the sequel arrived, that it would be immediately available on consoles. Sometimes it takes time to get a game to consoles and we have to wait.
XCOM 2 was a PC exclusive until now, but the XCOM 2 console release has finally been confirmed by developer Firaxis. The PC game is going to make its way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September of this year. That’s great news for the rest of us who have wanted to play it.
The XCOM 2 console release is going to be handled by a new developer called The Workshop. The game is in good hands since it was founded by people who were previously at Treyarch, a studio known for the Call of Duty titles.
Firaxis is going to work with The Workshop to bring XCOM 2 to PS4 and Xbox One later this year. It will be identical to its PC counterpart, however, it will have updated controls for the console. These games are pretty intense so I can’t wait to play this one. XCOM 2 will be released for consoles on September 6th in North America and September 9th across the globe. No news about mobile.
