To answer one of your burning questions, yes, you can unplug the Kinect sensor without your Xbox One turning off or being bricked. Xbox One Chief Platform Architect Marc Whitten was asked by IGN if the console would still work if the previously mandatory Kinect sensor were to say, fall on the floor and break.
Whitten responded “like online, the console will still function if Kinect isn’t plugged in, although you won’t be able to use any feature or experience that explicitly used the sensor.”
So that is another important question answered. Whitten also said that you can turn the sensor completely off in the system settings. “When in this mode, the sensor is not collecting any information,” Whitten said, adding that it’s still in use for IR in this configuration. He said that “entering into a required Kinect experience” with the sensor off will prompt you to enable it before proceeding.
The Microsoft Xbox One is powered by a customised AMD Jaguar 8 core processor and will also feature a graphics processor that is tailored for Direct X 11. graphics and comes with 32MB of high bandwidth embedded ESRAM.
