Microsoft is making a habit of cutting the Xbox One’s price. They just can’t make it cheap enough. They obviously want to move a ton of inventory.
The original Xbox One was recently discounted to $299 from $349. Only two weeks have passed since that price went into effect and today the company has cut it again. The price cut comes a day after Microsoft unveiled the new Xbox One S which is 40 percent smaller than the original console.
It looks like this is a promotional price cut, but it’s also a good way for Microsoft to clear that existing inventory of the original Xbox One. Remember, they had trouble shifting units for ages, so it’s understandable that they would make a crazy push like this.
Today, basic bundles of the 500GB Xbox One are available for $279 as opposed to the $299 pricing that went into effect two weeks ago. Microsoft has confirmed that this is a promotional price cut and it’s going to remain in effect until October 1st. If you’d like to pick up the console at a very attractive price, now is the time.
They are selling them while they can because the Xbox One S is way better than the original console and has a few minor tweaks as well.
