It’s never been cheap being a gamer. For instance, it costs $59.99 before tax for first-party Xbox One titles in the States. That is about £39 for the UK.
When you add in the VAT tax for the UK, the final amount for UK buyers comes to £49.99. That price is what games like Dead Rising 3 and Forza Motorsport 5 will cost you over at Microsoft’s UK web store. That’s not a surprising figure for gamers. One that they are used to from current Xbox 360 games.
But it does seem out of joint with things like Steam’s sales model, which brings prices down for PC gamers. We can’t help but wonder what the future holds for game pricing. Right now it isn’t east being a gamer.
