One drawback to living in times like these is that cool new gadgets are bound to attract thieves. Sarah Slocum was at Molotov’s bar last Friday night, in San Francisco, wearing Google Glass. The night did not end well.
She says that while she was showing a few friends and a few onlookers how Glass worked, a couple of women confronted her, before another guy ripped the Glass right off her face. Then to add insult to injury, someone stole her phone and her purse. She later recovered the Glass which even had video of the guy ripping them off her face.
A fight broke out when a guy insulted Slocum and then her companion responded with fists. At that point Slocum started recording everyone jeering at the fight that had ensued, which was probably not a great idea. Glass isn’t a gadget that is welcomed everywhere and even when it is, be careful of thieves. These are troubled times and if others see you wearing what is essentially “free money” they won’t hesitate to take it. Always be careful and practice situational awareness, so you know what is going on.
