Here’s some interesting news that can’t please Apple. Microsoft’s corporate communications VP Frank Shaw unveiled some interesting numbers. “Windows Phone has reached 10 percent market share in a number of countries, and according to IDC’s latest report, has shipped more than Blackberry in 26 markets and more than iPhone in seven.”
If accurate, the 10% market share was one of the milestones Microsoft has been waiting to achieve to signify a breakthrough in its attempts to build the third ecosystem. He didn’t elaborate on which countries those 10% were in. They could be large developed markets, or tinier emerging markets.
All we know for sure is that Microsoft is slowly but surely raising its market presence. And that is still good news for them
