The Legend of Zelda’s main character is Link. A male hero who rescues the princess time and again. In the past, the developers had toyed with the idea of a female Link called Linkle but she never made it into any of the games thus far.
That may change in the upcoming Hyrule Warriors for the Nintendo 3DS. A leaked screenshot shows a crossbow hidden in the background. You can see it in the image here. Many are speculating that this means you can choose to play as a female version of Link.
You see, in the Hyrule Warriors art book, it showed the character wielding a crossbow and based on the leaked trailer, it looks like it is the exact same crossbow from the artwork, so many believe that Linkle could finally be getting some screen time.
This is all speculation. Sometimes a crossbow is just a crossbow. But who knows? Hyrule Warrior is a Zelda game that was originally developed for the Nintendo Wii U but is now making its way onto the Nintendo 3DS. What do you think? Do you want Linkle or Link? Or both? Or do you not care? Yeah, let’s just enjoy the game, crossbow or no crossbow.
