Nintendo is improving the Wii U with a summer update that arrived a bit late. This update allows users to play their original Wii games on the Wii U gamepad by using remote play, but a Wiimote is still required.
The update seems like a good thing, but picture having your Wii U gamepad in your lap along with a Wiimote. That just seems silly to me. Especially if the games you’re playing don’t use motion controls. That seems to be the sort of thing that have made this console hurt for sales already.
Nintendo has also rolled out the usual bug fixes and stability updates. Well, it is better than nothing I guess.
