You already love to share photos and chat with your friends on Facebook, but those living in Washington State might now have a new use for Facebook. Like registering to vote on the social network. Washington State has already allowed online voter registration since 2008, and with the implementation of Facebook, now there is a new way to reach potential voters.
The Facebook application is scheduled to roll out later this week, and when it does eligible state residents will be able to register to vote right from their Facebook page. The app was designed by Microsoft and will place a screen from the official state website right into a user’s Facebook page, and it will automatically introduce some of the information that already in a Facebook profile, with the name and date of birth also included.
Other states that allow online voter registration include Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana and Utah. This should make life easier.
