Volvo launched its car subscription service a while back and it predicted that the Care by Volvo service would be well received and it looks like the prediction was accurate. Just four months after the service’s launch, Volvo has sold as many subscriptions as it initially thought it would sell in the service’s first year. That’s very impressive.
Care by Volvo costs $600 per month at first and delivered a $35,000 XC40 to subscribers. The price includes maintenance, insurance, 24/7 concierge, and roadside assistance. It has been raised by $50 since then but customers seem okay with that. If you are willing to pay a bit more you can even get the 2019 S60 T6 R-Design sedan for $850 per month.
The success of this service has led to a waitlist for the XC40 crossover. So if you sign up for Care by Volvo now you will not immediately get your vehicle. Instead you will be put on a waitlist that stretches well into 2019 at this point.
So it is difficult to get the car through this service but also through a more traditional a dealership. The popularity of the service has even resulted in Volvo pinching supplies of the XC40 to dealerships in order to meet demand. They certainly have a good thing in this service.
