ViewSonic has this week unveiled a new addition to its range in the form of the ViewSonic VSD220 Smart Display. Which has been created to provide users with a high definition touchscreen monitor, equipped with a Android PC inside.
The VSD220 Smart Display is powered by a dual-core ARM-based Texas Instruments OMAP 4 processor, supported by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system.
Other features of the VSD220 Smart Display include a micro-HDMI video input, 1.2 megapixel front facing camera, 1 x microSD slot, 3 x USB ports and 1 x Ethernet port. Jeff Volpe, president of ViewSonic Americas, explains:
“The VSD220 Smart Display is engineered for today’s cloud connected world,”-“ViewSonic is embracing the post-PC transition with what will be a full range of connected display solutions. For consumers, the VSD220 is perfect for surfing the web, engaging on social networks and enjoying a world of Android apps.”
ViewSonic has fitted their VSD220 with a 22 inch screen sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the new display will be arriving in stores during mid-to-late October and will be priced at $399.
