The Nokia Lumia 929, otherwise known as the Lumia Icon is real. The device was seen on Verizon’s website and it was rumored for a 16th of January release, but obviously that did not happen as that date has come and gone. We’re not sure why Verizon is dragging its heels to announce the handset and release it. Maybe they are waiting to make an announcement at MWC 2014.
Well whatever the reason, the Lumia Icon has made its way into China where it is now being sold. Interestingly, it looks like the model sold in China is Verizon’s model and boots up with Verizon’s logo. This seems to suggest that Verizon has stock of the Lumia Icon but is maybe holding off for whatever reasons. It’s weird. The listing in China has a price tag of $630.
The Lumia Icon is basically a smaller version of the Lumia 1520. Instead of a large 6” display, the Lumia Icon is said to have a smaller 5” display, and for the most part it will keep the same hardware specs as the Lumia 1520. When we get more info on this device we will pass it along. Odd things are afoot with this device for sure.
