Verizon Wireless, the nation’s largest carrier, has scored $2.25 billion in profits and they have also added almost 1 million new wireless subscribers in the second quarter of 2013. The company has beaten expectations of 72 cents a share, with a net income of 78 cents a share. Not bad. Looks like they have alot to celebrate.
The total quarterly revenue grew to $29.8 billion for the carrier. Being the first to massively launch a 4G LTE network has really paid off with 941,000 subscribers.
As a result, Verizon now covers 500 U.S. markets with high-speed 4G LTE connectivity. By comparison, AT&T only covers 300 markets and they are the biggest competition.
