UK supermarket Tesco has announced that it will be offering free WiFi to its customers in its Tesco Extra stores throughout the UK, and the service has been launched with UK mobile and broadband provider O2.
Users of the Tesco stores will get free unlimited access to WiFi in the stores if they sing in using their Tesco clubcard, and if you don’t have one of these you will get 15 minutes of free WiFi when you are in the store.
So far, customers have been using it to read product reviews and compare prices while they shop. The Wi-Fi also allows users to access their Clubcard account online to check their points and receive e-vouchers.
Tesco is the first supermarket in the UK to offer free WiFi to its customers, no doubt we will see more supermarkerts offering free WiFi in the future.
