If you have been following Twitter news, you no doubt know that Twitter is struggling to attract new users. Looking to other social networking apps for ideas is one way they are trying to attract people.
Recode is reporting that the company is testing a new sticker feature similar to Facebook. This would allow users to spice up their photos with colorful, cute and customizable additions.
A tester named @XBLFoxes shared a screenshot with the new sticker option in the right-hand corner of Twitter’s photo editor. The idea is that it could encourage people to tweet more photos and receive more likes, retweets and replies from other users. Of course this would help Twitter to grow and gain more users. Apparently there is an option to “see how other users from around the world have edited the same photo.” Also, Twitter will “suggest photos that you can edit and post to participate in trending conversations and breaking news.” That would work well for “viral” news, for when people react to the news with comedy.
It is all still in a testing phase, so there’s no guarantee that these features will roll-out to everyone. At least now we know what they are working on.
