Creative agency R/GA has an interesting idea. An e-cigarette with Internet connectivity. The cig can send tweets out about your smoking activities.
E-cigarettes use tiny batteries to heat the flavored nicotine and water, transforming them into a vapor for smokers who are trying to kick the habit. You inhale the smoke without some of the harmful chemicals that are found in actual cigarettes.
With @TweetingCiggy, R/GA set up a Twitter account in addition to an Arduino microcontroller that will connect the e-cigarette to the Internet. A conducive tape is placed over the button of the e-cigarette, and whenever the e-cigarette button is pressed, the conducive tape will send a signal to the Arduino microcontroller. This app will keep track of your smoking and send a tweet to the @TweetingCiggy Twitter account. It’s an interesting approach to smoking.
