We all love a good upgrade if it saves us some time, trouble or money. Here is a good one. Maybe you wanted to purchase the new Xbox One console, but older headsets might not be compatible with the device. Well, Microsoft has announced that they are working on an adapter that will help make it compatible, and now we have some more good news.
Headphone manufacturer Turtle Beach has announced something similar. The company announced that they will be giving out free Xbox One compatibility kits for certain models of Turtle Beach headsets as long as they were purchased between November 22nd through January 30th 2014. The models include the Turtle Beach Ear Force XP SEVEN, X42, XP400, and XP510. Turtle Beach expects to start shipping the kits for free between the March 1st 2014 to June 30th 2014. Sure, it is a wait, but at least you know you are covered.
Turtle Beach says that, “The compatibility kit includes a Microsoft proprietary audio control unit that connects to the Xbox One controller via the controller’s expansion port. The unit makes volume, game-chat audio mix, and mute controls easy to access while playing. The control unit also passes audio through to the headset. The kit also includes a cable that connects the headset to the control unit for chat audio.” Good move Turtle Beach. It’s nice to know they are looking out for their customers.
