Touchy claims to be able to turn anyone into a human camera. It’s a bold claim. Touchy is the creation of Hong Kong new media artist Eric Siu. Just put it on your head, look silly and hope you don’t get laughed at.
The camera helmet is attached to a tiny globe that is called the Touchy Bulb. Whenever a passerby touches the bulb and the wearer simultaneously for 10 seconds, a signal will be sent to the helmet, followed by a photo being shot. Hence the name, touchy.
Right before the photo is taken, the helmet’s eye sockets open twin apertures and show the wearer’s eyes illuminated by an internal helmet light, and once the photo is shot, it can be previewed on the 3.5” LCD display located at the back of the helmet. Pretty clever even if it does look silly.
