Runic Games has announced a release date for Torchlight 2, their dungeon crawler sequel. The game will finally launch on September 20. It looks like Runic has taken feedback from beta testers very seriously and made some good changes to the Torchlight 2 experience.
There’s a revamped skill system. Tier bonuses for each ability unlock at 5, 10, and 15 points. Each tier bonus adds a unique property to the skill that makes it more effective. That sounds pretty awesome. The skill menu has also been revamped into a much cleaner, more understandable layout.
The four character classes have three tracks of abilities that are separated into tabs on the skill page as well. Each tab has seven active skills along the top and three passive skills along the bottom, all arranged in reading order based on what level is needed to unlock them. This should be a great experience.
