Fans of virtual skateboarding will be happy to hear this news. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions are coming shortly after that.
This info is according to Game Informer’s June cover story. The game is being published by Activision and it’s in development at Robomodo, which is the studio behind 2009’s Tony Hawk: Ride, 2010’s Tony Hawk: Shred and 2012’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD. Well, now more Tony Hawk is headed your way. Here is what we know so far.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will have some new features to make the franchise fresh again. Or so they hope. The game will include power-ups and “the ability to shoot projectiles for specific missions,”. Sounds a bit like Mario Kart meets Tony Hawk.
Players will be able to create and share skate parks, and the game also features online co-op and competitive play. What do you think Tony Hawk fans? Are you up for some power-ups and projectiles? Kinda makes you wonder if Mario and the gang will show up. I’m sure hardcore fans will embrace the new features with open arms. It will arrive later this year.
